About the Mother Lode Ragtime Society:  Founded in 1999  following the success of the First Ever Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival, the Mother Lode Ragtime Society's primary purpose is to ensure that all pianos and miscellaneous instruments in and around this picturesque Gold Rush town issue ragtime music . To join the Mother Lode Ragtime Society, simply attend a jam session. If you don't perform at the piano or on a fiddle, banjo, tuba, washboard, gut bucket, cow bell, or other instrument of choice, you're expected to at least tap your toes, spoons, coffee cups, ice cream dishes, children, and/or spouse in a syncopated fashion. No fee. Donations for postage gratefully accepted.

Jam sessions are generally held the third Saturday of every odd month (Jan- Mar - May - July - Sept) from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Sutter Creek Ice Cream Emporium, 51 Main Street (Hwy 49), Sutter Creek, CA.

The Society produces the annual Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival held the second weekend of August (next one is Aug. 8 - 10, 2008) plus special concerts throughout the year. For information on the next Festival, click on the "2007 Festival" button above.  Please select Calendar for a list of our upcoming special concerts.
